Artist Profile

Alasdair the holidays, he realised that early retirement would give him the chance to work as an artist full time. He has exhibited in Melbourne and Montreal, and in galleries in his home town of Edinburgh. He concentrates mainly on house portraits and golf scenes in watercolour, but also specialises in pet portraits and murals of all types, mainly Mediterranean or Tropical.

Just recently, he has worked on two murals in a large Georgian mansion, as far apart in subject matter as ‘The Normandy landings’ and ‘African jungle and wildlife’. He realises that versatility is the way forward. “I will paint centenary golf club and cricket club watercolours with limited edition prints, or someone’s favourite Border collie. I will travel all over the UK and abroad to paint murals, and my rates for these are between £250 to £300 per day, or alternatively, a fixed price agreed beforehand per wall or room.”

He admits to being a computer dinosaur. “Forget E mails — I wouldn’t know where to start! If you want to contact me, my home or mobile number is the place to start. I prefer vocal contact, and it’s so less scientific!”
